Cape May

Cape May Point
The Point as the locals call it is located at the tip of the peninsula and is known as one of the quieter areas in Cape May. Cape May Point, although still close to the downtown area of Cape May, is a little more removed from the hustle and bustle that makes up the town in the summer months. The Point contains: a post office, lake, small park with a basketball and volleyball court with a general store right across from it, a lighthouse (which you can climb to the top of for only a small fee), a national park with beautiful walking trails, and not to mention that the Point has its own beaches well within walking distance from any house you stay at. Cape May Point is also one of the most popular areas for bird watchers. Avid birders as well as those with a mild curiosity are often seen peering through binoculars at the many species of birds that visit the National Park in the summer months.

While Cape May Point does sometimes feel as if it's another town all together it still has a lot to offer its residents and remains close to the busy downtown area of Cape May if you want a break from the quiet. Right next to the point is a small outdoor eatery and two souvenir shops located at Sunset beach, which also offers a view of spectacular sunset. Also at sunset beach is an old World War II watch tower which was once used for soldiers to look for German submarines, and which is now opened for visitors to climb to the top off.

West Cape May
West Cape May offers a quiet yet convenient setting for the Jersey Shore. Cold Spring
When the canal that separates Cape May from the mainland was dug Cold Spring was split up into two parts. One section is now located north of the Canal and one section is located south of the canal.

The section located north of the canal has Cold Spring Village which is an early American open- air living history museum which seeks to show visitors what life would have been like for South Jersey residents who were living in the time of "home spun." Cold Spring village has everything from a basket weaver to an old-fashioned candy store and is a great day trip for kids and adults alike. Also located on the North side is one of oldest graveyards in the United States and it contains the remains of more mayflower descendants than anywhere else outside of Massachusetts and tours of the graveyard are offered to curious visitors.

The south section of Cold Spring encompasses the famous Cape May lighthouse, which is more commonly known as being a part of the Point, and the beautiful skyline of the island greets those who decide to climb to the top. South Cold Spring also contains Sunset Beach with its mini golf course and gift shops. While Sunset beach is known as a prime spot for watching sunsets it's also a great spot for searching for the famous Cape May Diamonds and unique seashells to take home as souvenirs. North Cape May
North Cape May is one of the quieter, residential areas in the Cape May area and is a great place to sit back, relax and enjoy the fresh sea air. The Wildwoods
Wildwood is one of the most unique places in Cape May County.
