  • Cape May

  •
  • Cape May is a national historic landmark city full of history and it’s both this and its unique beauty (it was voted one of the top ten most beautiful towns in the U.S.) that has had tourists flocking to it for years. Many Victorian homes can be seen throughout the town and it’s a common sight to see people strolling the streets admiring the Victorian architecture in the daytime or going on a ghost tour in and learning about the town’s earlier residents in the evening. With its commonation of unique history and family fun, Cape May is the perfect destination.

Beautiful beaches are undoubtedly one of the attractions that draw people to visit Cape May. Whether it’s swimming, surfing, or just admiring the ocean while reading a book the Cape May beaches (which ranked fifth in the New Jersey 2008 top ten Beaches contest) are a popular destination. The beaches also remain a very popular area for fishing and it’s a common sight to see a fisherman standing on the jetty or sitting on the beach waiting for a tug on their line. However, while Cape May does pride itself on both the beauty and safety of its beaches, surf and sand are not all this town has to offer.

The newly renovated outdoor Washington Street Mall is only a short walk away from the beaches. Enjoy strolling from store to store on the beautiful cobblestones to partake in some window shopping once you’re tired of the sand and waves, but we guarantee that before you know it you’ll have to check out what lies behind the windows. Offering everything from specialized soaps to clothing and fun souvenirs the Washington Street mall has a unique collection of shops and one of them is bound to cater to your tastes.

While we’re on the subject of tastes a variety of restaurants ranging from award winning upper class establishments to the typical hot dog and burger as well as ice cream parlors line both the promenade and the mall making lunch, dinner or maybe just desert not only delectable but also easily accessible.  Cape May offers a variety of experiences from shopping and playing games at one of the arcades by the beach to sun bathing and parasailing, Cape May truly has something for everyone, and Wilsey Realty is happy to help you find your ideal place in Cape May.  Search Cape May Properties

  • Cape May Point

  •
  • The Point as the locals call it is located at the tip of the peninsula and is known as one of the quieter areas in Cape May. Cape May Point, although still close to the downtown area of Cape May, is a little more removed from the hustle and bustle that makes up the town in the summer months. The Point contains: a post office, lake, small park with a basketball and volleyball court with a general store right across from it, a lighthouse (which you can climb to the top of for only a small fee), a national park with beautiful walking trails, and not to mention that the Point has its own beaches well within walking distance from any house you stay at. Cape May Point is also one of the most popular areas for bird watchers. Avid birders as well as those with a mild curiosity are often seen peering through binoculars at the many species of birds that visit the National Park in the summer months.

While Cape May Point does sometimes feel as if it's another town all together it still has a lot to offer its residents and remains close to the busy downtown area of Cape May if you want a break from the quiet. Right next to the point is a small outdoor eatery and two souvenir shops located at Sunset beach, which also offers a view of spectacular sunset. Also at sunset beach is an old World War II watch tower which was once used for soldiers to look for German submarines, and which is now opened for visitors to climb to the top off.

Cape May Point is the perfect spot to sit back and smell the salt air, and if quiet is what your after Wilsey Realty is more than ready to show you all the advantages of Cape May Point.

  • West Cape May

  •
  • West Cape May offers a quiet yet convenient setting for the Jersey Shore. West Cape May is one of the neighboring bouregous to Cape May but the Washington Street Mall is only a short bike ride or walk away as are the Cape May beaches. Popular restaurants and quirky shops that steer away from the typical souvenir stores can be found here, and West Cape May has more antique shops than anywhere else in the Island.  West Cape May also hosts a series of fun festivals in its park such as the Lima Bean and Strawberry festival, which are always a popular attraction for both locals and tourists. Many beautiful Victorian homes can be found here as well so if you're not shopping, attending a festival or eating it's always a pleasure to take a walk around West Cape May and admire the homes that make it up. As an added bonus all parking in West Cape May is street parking so it's always free! If this seems like an area you would enjoy give Wilsey Realty a call!

  • Cold Spring

  •
  • When the canal that separates Cape May from the mainland was dug Cold Spring was split up into two parts. One section is now located north of the Canal and one section is located south of the canal.

The section located north of the canal has Cold Spring Village which is an early American open- air living history museum which seeks to show visitors what life would have been like for South Jersey residents who were living in the time of "home spun."  Cold Spring village has everything from a basket weaver to an old-fashioned candy store and is a great day trip for kids and adults alike. Also located on the North side is one of oldest graveyards in the United States and it contains the remains of more mayflower descendants than anywhere else outside of Massachusetts and tours of the graveyard are offered to curious visitors.

The south section of Cold Spring encompasses the famous Cape May lighthouse, which is more commonly known as being a part of the Point, and the beautiful skyline of the island greets those who decide to climb to the top. South Cold Spring also contains Sunset Beach with its mini golf course and gift shops. While Sunset beach is known as a prime spot for watching sunsets it's also a great spot for searching for the famous Cape May Diamonds and unique seashells to take home as souvenirs.   If either of the Cold Springs sounds like your idea of the perfect vacation spot Wilsey Realty is happy to help you explore your options!
